Subsreader: A Subtitle Reader for Video Platforms
Subsreader is a free Chrome add-on developed by Soundder that allows you to listen to the subtitles of your favorite streaming platform. Whether you have a visual impairment that prevents you from accessing the subtitles or simply prefer not to read them, Subsreader enables you to enjoy series and movies that have not been dubbed in your language.
Using Subsreader is straightforward. First, access your preferred streaming platform, such as Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube, or Paramount+. Choose a content and activate the subtitles. To activate the reader, press "Control + Q" on Mac or "Control + F1" on Windows. Alternatively, you can click on the extension icon and use the activation button in the pop-up page.
Once the reader is activated, you can sit back and enjoy the subtitles being read aloud to you. If you want to adjust more technical parameters, such as the voice of the reader or the volume, you can do so by pressing "Control + F2" on Windows or "Control + A" on Mac to open the Subsreader preferences panel.
With Subsreader, you can enhance your streaming experience by effortlessly listening to subtitles and accessing content that may otherwise be inaccessible. It is a useful tool for individuals with visual impairments or those who prefer an audio-based approach to subtitles.
